In 2023, the Union des Églises Baptistes au Rwanda (UEBR) proudly hosted the All Africa Baptist Fellowship, a significant event that gathered 1,000 participants from Baptist churches across the continent. This fellowship aimed to strengthen ties among churches and foster a spirit of unity and collaboration.
The event took place in a vibrant atmosphere filled with worship, prayer, and fellowship. Reverend Thomas Murwanashyaka, a key figure in the organization of the event, welcomed attendees with open arms, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to connect with Christians from diverse backgrounds and cultures. He emphasized that such gatherings are vital for sharing experiences, challenges, and successes in ministry.
One of the highlights of the fellowship was the presence of Dr. Rick Warren, a renowned author and pastor, known for his influential work in church growth and community service. Dr. Warren spoke passionately about the importance of unity among Baptist churches, noting that collaboration can amplify their impact in spreading the Gospel and serving their communities. His message resonated deeply with the attendees, inspiring them to work together more closely in their respective ministries.
Throughout the event, participants engaged in various activities, including workshops, discussions, and worship services. These sessions focused on key topics such as evangelism strategies, community development, and the role of faith in addressing social issues. Attendees shared their insights and best practices, enriching one another’s understanding of effective ministry in different contexts.
The fellowship also featured cultural presentations, showcasing the rich diversity of the Baptist community in Africa. Participants enjoyed music, dance, and art that reflected their unique traditions, fostering a deeper appreciation for each other’s backgrounds.

As the event concluded, many left feeling renewed and empowered to take the lessons learned back to their home churches. The fellowship not only strengthened existing relationships but also forged new ones, creating a network of support among Baptist churches across Africa.
Reverend Murwanashyaka closed the event with a heartfelt prayer, asking for God’s guidance as participants returned to their communities. He encouraged everyone to continue spreading the message of hope and love, united in their mission to serve God and humanity.
The All Africa Baptist Fellowship 2023 was a remarkable success, reinforcing the significance of unity and collaboration among Baptist churches in Africa.
