UEBR/UBCR began its missionary and evangelism activities in 1939, initiated by missionaries from Denmark. The first church was established on Nyantanga Hill in Nyaruguru District, Southern Province, and has since expanded to many other areas of the country. The Union of Baptist Churches in Rwanda consists of about 64 local Baptist churches located in different regions of Rwanda. These churches are organized into 16 parishes, which are: Kibungo, Rwagitima, Mukoma, Ruhuha, Nyakayaga, Kigali, Uwingugu, Butare, Runyombyi, Remera, Nkakwa, Nyantanga, Kabuga, Ruheru, Gasumo, and Gisenyi. These parishes are grouped into three main regions: East, South, and West.
The contribution of UBCR to Rwandan citizens goes beyond sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ; it also includes helping citizens develop their social and economic lives. After evangelization, UBCR contributes to education, healthcare, and economic development in the country, allowing people to grow both spiritually and economically.

Our evangelism efforts are effective, as shown by the increasing number of individuals who find comfort, purpose, and community in our church family. We regularly hear testimonies of transformed lives and renewed faith, demonstrating the healing and transformative power of God’s love. Additionally, we encourage and equip our members to take part in evangelism, helping them share their faith confidently and kindly with others. Through training programs, outreach events, and community partnerships, we enhance the impact of each person’s commitment to spreading the Gospel.
