About Southern Region

The Southern Region is one of the three key regions where the Union des Eglises Baptistes au Rwanda (UEBR) operates, with its headquarters located at Butare Parish in Huye District, specifically in Ngoma Sector, Butare Cell, Karubanda Village.

 

This vibrant region comprises six parishes: Butare, Nyantanga, Nkakwa, Uwingugu, Runyombi, and Remera. Within these parishes, there are 24 local churches that serve as vital community hubs, including Butare, Rusenge, Mwendo, Nyabikenke, Nyantanga, Bunge, Nyamirama, Murama, Nkakwa, Mirabyo, Rutobwe, Gasasa, Kirabo, Uwingugu, Cyanyirankora, Kibumbwe, Runyombyi, Masiga, Nteko, Gatanda, Remera, Zirambi, Bigugu, and Mishungero.

 

Together, these parishes and local churches foster a sense of community and spiritual growth, offering various programs and services that enrich the lives of their congregants and the surrounding population. The Southern Region stands as a testament to UEBR’s commitment to spreading the Gospel and serving the needs of its communities through faith-based initiatives and support.
